For anyone who thinks that because we once classified Pluto as a planet and have later revised our definition, science is a process that requires an equal leap of logic as practicing a religion, you’ve been mislead. You’ve been reading too many Yahoo science articles that dumb things down to a point where conclusions are black and white.
The amount of “faith” aka degree of uncertainty we put in science is really just believing that 1) scientists are not spinning or blatantly lying about their discoveries 2) they did not commit technical human error during their studies and 3) the amount of presented evidence is enough to reasonably make whatever conclusion. However, the “faith” in any religion is that something that physically (as far as what we know) shouldn’t be able to happen, happened.
They’re both bets but one of them is definitely riskier than the other.
Revisited this old song. Sped it up and slowed it down after I exported it because it felt too fast. I can’t help it :|
